TR 082: Everything You Need to Know About Modern Web Design

In this episode of Troublesome Radio, I welcome Jon Perrson to the show.

We talk everything about web design - what's currently working, what's not, design tips, freelance business advice, and a lot more.

Jon is a young man (20) who recently left his university studies in order to continue pursuing his web design career, so far which is very successful. He's built the websites of Ed Latimore (who I've interviewed here and here), as well as Alexander Cortes. You may have heard of both of these guys. If you haven't, I'd highly recommend checking them out, too.

In this 1 hour and 15 minute interview, you'll learn:

  • How to get started with web design and other freelance work - Jon's beginnings and how he got his first clients
  • The 5 MOST IMPORTANT things just about anyone could do to improve their site RIGHT now.
  • Pop-ups, opt-ins, and other ways to capture leads - what's currently trending and what's not working? I also mention the excellent conversions I get on my Ukraine Living and Eastern European Travel sites (feel free to copy them)
  • Alternative options to WordPress to build your website or blog
  • Whether or not you actually need to *invest* in paid tools and software to succeed
  • Finally, how to get your first clients, what the deal is with freelancing...
  • ...and much, much more!

It was a pleasure having Jon on the show to talk shop. If you'd like to get a free consultation with him, you can click here to learn more about his services. You can also find him on Twitter @jonlperrson.

TR 081: Welcome to the NEW Podbean Site!

In episode #81 of Troublesome Radio, I explain the move to the new Podbean website (the one you're currently reading!) off of Soundcloud.

For more relevant details, you can read this post.

Truthfully, when it comes to things like this (especially in the digital world), it's easy to get married to a platform. People put all their stock into building their Twitter audience, then get banned off Twitter. While this wasn't as drastic, it was still important.

It was important to make the move now for long-term success versus going around in the cycle on Soundcloud. It's still going to be a massive undertaking to go back and edit these older posts (and I may not do it all).

But it was better to do it now before I got up to 100, 200, 1,000+ episodes. Can you imagine the nightmare?

No thanks!

In any case, I hope you enjoy the brief show and I'll be back with more soon.

PS: THIS week I'll be having a Memorial Day Sale on all my products - get on my email list here.

TR 080: Celebrating My New Membership Site (And How You Can Build One, Too!)

In episode #80 of Troublesome Radio, I discuss (and celebrate) building my new membership site!

That's actually one year since I released my first ever course, The Harem Handbook.

But, you won't want to miss this episode - because it really gives some insight into how simple the process can be. However, you have to think clearly and logically about whether or not there is a market for your course or product.

No need to be scared about payment gateways/SSL/logins/etc.

I tell you why, and more.

In this episode, you'll learn...

  • How to figure out if there is even a market for your product, and why you CANNOT create a market for a product if there is no demand. Trust me, I learned this the hard way.
  • How to build a membership site for fun and profit, using this post as a baseline
  • What the deal is with blogging
  • The difference between shared hosting, Wordpress, and VPS hosting - and what you really need
  • My best recommendations for themes, other than what I already offer with Troublesome Solutions
  • And much, much more.

TR 079: The Insane and Absurd Avocado Toast Phenomenon

In episode 79 of Troublesome Radio, I go on a solo rant about the strange phenomenon that is...

Avocado Toast.

Make sure you subscribe to this NEW podcast site by clicking here.

A recent article in Time went relatively viral. In said article, an Australian millionaire ripped on all millenials who are spending $22 per meal for a piece of bread with avocado smeared on it. I couldn't help but chuckle, as when I was out at breakfast/lunch a few weeks ago someone at my table actually did order it. Thankfully it's a bit more affordable in Eastern Europe than it is in the States.

$22?!

Anyways.

In this show (hit 'Play' below), you're going to learn...

  • Why this millionaire is not wrong, but also not right on some things
  • What I would do AGAIN if I was graduating college and coming into a good-paying job
  • More reading about absurdly overpriced foods
  • Why having EXPERIENCES is important but it depends WHICH experiences you live
  • How to make wise financial choices to set you up for FREEDOM, and hopefully a good long-term life.

Note: I am not a financial advisor and all of this is just my humble opinion :)

Also, seriously. Don't take girls out on brunch dates and waste money on avocado toast. Especially when you've got sugar babies and the like popping up everywhere. Game them, don't let yourself be gamed. For a great podcast about that, check out episode 43.

TR 077: How to Make Friends While Living Abroad

tr78.png

In episode 77 of Troublesome Radio, I discuss what it was like seeing an old friend who visited me out in Eastern Europe.

He was actually originally on the podcast---way, WAY back in episode #13.

It was great having him out here to hang out and cause some trouble around my city. Man, I look back and think---that was TRULY the tipping point for me. At that point I quit the job, moved out of Los Angeles just a few months later, and started the great journey that has led me to where I am.

Truly, the guy as well as my pal Jake (episode 54) really were the catalyst behind it.

I love you guys---no homo.

El Conquistador does post here from time-to-time. His latest post is about Mexican women.

In any case, in this episode you'll learn and hear about:

  • Why those two made about a tenth of what I did at my corporate job...
  • ...and how that inspired me
  • How to make friends who are like-minded when you live abroad (plus why you need to)
  • And much, much more

PS: If you're looking to break out of the corporate shackles like I did, make sure you see this.

PSS: If you're sick and tired of not having the options you want with women, check out the University. For just $9 a month (less than a damn cocktail these days, I swear) you can have access to all of my old interactions that you can utilize in your own life. Click here to learn more.

  • 3 different projects I worked on with friends.
  • Why 2 of them did not work out and how you can avoid it.
  • How to say 'NO' to people when they have ideas
  • How to determine if a friend is someone good to go into business with or not
  • Leaving people behind - is it necessary? The answer...here.
